Which is rather silly, and is just an example of how not to use
electronic displays, not a reason not to use them at all!

AFAIAC, the most sensible and useful way to use these displays is to
have a full-height number on the left, and a two-line display on the
right, with the destination on the top (in bold if it will fit) and up
to 2 different sets of via points (no more) alternating approximately
every 5-7 seconds on the bottom.
