Is there a suitable/cost effective way of LUL using the additional spare
platforms at Moorgate station once the Thameslink services no longer use the
branch?

Extend the DLR from Bank to Moorgate, Barbican and Farringdon.
Terminate at cross platform interchange on existing LUL carriage
sidings at Farringdon. Direct link from City Airport etc.
Isn't the DLR at Bank a) too deep, b) facing the wrong way, and c)
blocked by the bank of England's vaults even if those two problems
could be overcome? I think that one might be a bit of a non-starter I'm
afraid.

The DLR at Bank is facing North, isn't it, directly under the Northern
Line (and towards Moorgate at the wrong level)?
Seems to me that that would line up with connecting it to the Northern
City line towards Finsbury Park and all that.
Doesn't really help with the Moorgate Thameslink platforms though. I
think I agree that our never-ending need for coffee is a more obvious
use for the space.
