Bus is easy - 65 to Kingston and then a K3 to Esher Town Centre.

A good route, because (IIRC) both services stop in Eden Street. But it
will be something like 30 minutes longer in each direction than taking
the train.

I somehow suspect the OP was asking for alternatives to the train
because he wishes to travel when the rail service is suspended for all
or part of the normal rail route and can't face the replacement buses.

I'd certainly go by train if that mode was running normally.
