Judging from discussions here about Bank, no-one is quite sure about
when you are supposed to touch in at Bank to change to/from the DLR. The
rule *seems* to be: when using PAYG (prepay), touch in at Bank.

Therefore I'd advise you to touch in at Bank, because whilst you are in
Zone 1, you are using PAYG. In any case, touching in is the safest
option regardless of the ticket type.

I have entered the DLR at Canning Town several times, and every time it
has been behind the barriers, and every time it has Just Worked. I
don't think you need to touch in or out at Bank DLR.

Maybe you shouldn't have to, but try telling that to some of the meatheads
who check tickets on the DLR. See my story about when I got ********ed on a
DLR for not swiping at Bank (I was going from Old Street to Beckton, and
had gone through the barriers at Old Street - but this did not show on the
inspector's hand-held device on the DLR, and I got ********ed and almost
given a penalty). I was told I had to swipe at Bank as that was what they
were for, and if I did not, it wouldn't show on his device.

Oh, and I had a year season ticket for zones 1-3 at the time. No matter.
