I accept they are talking about average times but I struggle to see how
the average is so low.


According to a meeting I was at the other day, the *average* distance
from home to work, over the entire working population, is under 8 miles.


I now live about 9 miles from work, and it takes between 45 minutes
and an hour each way, depending which route I take.
