Default Baker St. Bakerloo and Jubilee

Matthew P Jones wrote in message ...
1) What was the arrangement of the Bakerloo at Baker Street before the
Jubilee - I assume it branched off in different directions north of
Baker Street, but were the northbound and southbound on different levels
then?

The Watford and Stanmore branches both had separate southbound platforms, with the two lines converging just south of the platforms.

The northbound line had only one platform, with the two branches diverging just north of the said platform, that to Stanmore going off to the right, and then passing over the top of the Watford branch.

When the Jubilee line was added, all they did was build the new southbound line off to the left, between the former southbound Stanmore branch platform and the converging junction. The southbound Stanmore platform therefore simply became the southbound Jubilee line platform. In the northbound direction, the new line joined onto the old quite a distance north of the diverging junction, and, therefore, a new northbound Jubilee line platform had to be provided.

2) What are the connections between the Bakerloo and Jubilee at Baker
Street, if any? I notice going north from Baker St. a line goes off to
the left - where does this go - to the Jubilee (which was on the right)
or the Bakerloo southbound?

The connections between the tracks basically use the original running tunnels.

From the southbound Jubilee line platform, you can proceed to the right, onto the southbound Bakerloo, which is accessed pretty much immediately. There is no connection from the southbound Bakerloo to the southbound Jubilee.

From the northbound Bakerloo platform, you can take the left hand route, which runs along the old tunnel for several trains lengths, before joining up to the northbound Jubilee. Similarly, you can't go from the northbound Jubilee to the northbound Bakerloo.
