Default Traffic Orders

What's the easiest way to find out whether the right turn from Peckham Hill

Ask the Council - Tel: 020 7525 2000

There are no signs or road markings banning it. Windows Live Local thinks
it's banned, and so does my TomTom. Maybe it used to be banned, but isn't
anymore, and they haven't rebuilt the junction? It seems odd that you would
have to go through two separate stop lines and two separate traffic light
phases to do a legal right turn.

You would not go through the process of revoking a Traffic Order for no
reason, but an order is unlikely to be enforceable unless the correct
signs are present. Are there no direction arrows on (or adjacent to)
the traffic lights? For example a 'this way only' sign (white arrow in
a blue disc) effectively has the same meaning as a banned turn sign at
a location like this.

Obviously you can't be prosecuted for doing it, but I'd rather not be
driving down there one day only to find that signs which had been removed by
vandals had been reinstated.

Why not? Surely as a safe & responsible driver you would take note of
any new signs which might appear; and would wish the council to repair
any damage. In any case, banned turns or not, this looks (at least
from the air) like a manoevre which would only be attempted by
tweg-heads. Am I missing something?
