Default Delivering an 'Intelligent Transport Systems'

Marshall Poulton, Head of Technology and Systems in the Directorate of
Traffic Operations in TfL will present the challenges facing Transport for
London and the role of Intelligent Transport Systems in delivering the
Vision.

The London Traffic Systems Vision (LTSV) is an initiative championed by the
Directorate of Traffic Operations in Transport for London. The LTSV sets the
way forward to develop a long-term view of the future systems and
technologies needed to manage street space. Intelligent Transport Systems
are at the heart of achieving this Vision. Marshall has the responsibility
of maximising the operating efficiency of London's main roads and providing
accurate and timely information to road users on their status and
performance. He also is responsible for developing a vision and
implementation programme for traffic systems to support the management of
London's road network to 2025.

Marshall has worked in Local Government throughout his career, he was Head
of Policy & Planning in Glasgow City Council, responsible for all policy
matters, road safety and control and operation of the National Driver and
Information Control System (NADICS) on behalf of the Scottish Executive.
Throughout his professional career, he has always been very active within
the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) society. He currently sits as an
executive committee member of ITS United Kingdom.
