The reasons why the London Underground was never extended to Bushey

The Northern line was going to be extended beyond Edgware, to Brockley
Hill, Elstree, & Bushey Heath.

However, the London Underground *did* serve Bushey between 1917 and
1982, when the Bakerloo ran to Watford Junction.

Yes, but of course neither of these stations was really in Bushey. The
Bakerloo station was in Oxhey, though renamed in 1974 from Bushey & Oxhey to
just Bushey. The Bushey Heath station on the Northern line extension would
have been at the A41/ A411 junction on the site which became Aldenham bus
depot.
