with the square of their speed. So in fact increasing speed will reduce
throughput.


ISTR the maximum throughput is achieved at something between 15 and 20
miles/hour.

At the risk of being somewhat classist and controversial, I resent
sitting on the M25-M3 slip waiting to get on to the M3 because of the
flux of 'Ruperts' speeding down from Hampton, Twickers, Richmond etc.
in their posh vehicles, insulated from the rest of the world, secure
in the knowledge that THEY have the right of way over lesser mortals
that have to use 'The Road To Hell'.
