The BBC must have received a press release to prompt this story. At
present I can't find one on the TfL website but that's where I'd expect
to see it.

My guess is that Queens Road is the first location in the installation
programme and as that is a key milestone in the programme to achieve
acceptance by November then I suppose it is newsworthy. Unfortunately
what I imagine are the facts have been horribly mangled and turned into
that BBC article.

Maybe the TfL press release will materialise on their website next week
and then we can all check?

I agree with you about the mixed references to Overground. While I can
see the attraction of using the term the fact that it is colloquial
speak for the main line railway in London is not going to aid
comprehension. I imagine the use of the term for the "high frequency"
routes in South London will be phased out by TfL and the TOCs.
