According to : "Crossrail promise to listen to public reaction" by James
Adlam which reports on the debate in Richmond on the local impact of the
Crossrail proposals, on-line at:

www.thisislocallondon.co.uk

"People interested in finding out more can visit a Crossrail exhibition at
the Old Town Hall, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond, on Saturday, November 29

from
10am to 6pm, and on Monday, December 1 from 2pm to 8pm. A session for the
Twickenham area is at the Civic Centre on Friday, November 28 from 2pm to
8pm."

From the comments I've heard around here people have only heard that
Richmond will cease to be on the District line, and are reacting with
horror. They don't yet seem to understand that Crossrail will replace it
with a service which (for travelling into town at least) is much better.
