I'd like to buy a ticket to start the next day. Like I used to at a
ticket office or from the guard on the train.

The machines don't allow me to do this either.

The Shere machines used by Chiltern Railways do - there is a touchpad
field for 'Today' and 'Tomorrow'. So, the technology is available.

The machine at Canterbury W (don't know the type) has a
'tommorrow' button, but when selected only offered the full
priced tickets, what's the point of that?

Same reason the 'today's' discounted tickets, netwok cards etc, don't come
up until the time they're valid?

But you can't buy those early, on the day, from the ticket office,
but you can buy "Savers for tomorrow" from the ticket office,
(except that Ms Grumpy had gone home).

Is it the same on Friday and Saturday, when
discounted tickets are usually available all day?
