Not too sure, although it wouldn't take long to repair/replace the
points. The new timetable (85/03) will be in for some time - rumours
are until March. Starting on Sunday, the timetable gives a
self-contained service as you say, except that the CX service will
terminate at Kennington:

The timetable is as follows:
Monday-Sunday
From start to close of traffic:
(the frequency and destination may vary slightly on the early start-up
trains)

Morden to Edgware v City - every 5 mins
Edgware to Morden v City - every 5 mins
Kennington NB to Barnet branch via CX - every 5 mins
Barnet branch SB to Kennington via CX - every 5 mins
to/from High Barnet 5, 5, 10, 5, 5, 10mins
to/from Mill Hill East - every 15 mins

The departure times past the hour are exactly the same throughout the
day, seven days a week, except that Sunday starts later and finishes
earlier (i.e. normal Sunday times). First and last train times remain
the same.

The M-F and Sat timetable is exactly the same, with no timetabled M-F
peak service.

The maximum number of timetabled trains in service on any day is 50.
This is effectively from 06:33-00:04 M-F and 08:22-22:43 Sun.

Additional untimetabled trains will be put into service in the M-F peak
hours, thus giving a greater frequency.

Trains will be numbered:
1-36 - Edgware-Morden via Bank
101-106 - MH-Kennington v CX
151-166 - HB-Kennington v CX

The new timetable is now coming into operation from tomorrow (Fri).

There have now been some additional trains added to the duties (not shown
in the timetable) which gives some through running from High Barnet -
Morden via CX. These trains are numbered in the 120s.

It's all rather chaotic at the moment from the crews' point of view as
things keep changing on a daily basis. The new duties mean that many
drivers are will be booking on at different times from tomorrow, with many
of them not realising it. Also, those that are returning from holiday need
to be told as well. A lot of behind the scenes work has gone into getting
the special duties and timetables ready at such short notice. Things
should all be settled down by the beginning of next week.

For passengers travelling to the different branches, it will mean changing
trains at Euston or Camden Town. However, as I can't see many people
wanting to change platforms at Euston, Camden Town will get very busy,
with people coming from all directions going to all directions. Avoid it
if at all possible! The line has effectively been segregated as has often
been rumoured might happen in the past. Let's hope it doesn't stay like
it.

Regarding the reason for this, as queried in the earlier post:

"20A points have been secured in the normal position to allow this service
to operate.
These points have been taken out of commission as cross-overs and will be
used as fixed rail only.
This will continue to be the case until the root cause of the original
accident is known."
