Of course it was considered - and led to the suggestion that St
Pancras station should be renamed London Agincourt.


This, of course would lead to the French retaliating by renaming the
Gare du Nord after a great French military victory over the English.

Oh, wait a minute. Something's not quite right there... ;-)


They have to make do with Austerlitz.

When I was young, we had exchange visits with a Parisian family. When we
were visiting each other's cities we were rather puzzled why stations
seemed to be named after defeats!
