Actually Drayton Park is closest, which by some weird logic isn't used on
match days....... only in England ;-)

Drayton Park is a narrow island platform with access by steps at only one
end. Although I did read of a good idea w.r.t. Drayton Park, which was to
provide another large down (northbound platform) for northbound matchday
traffic only? and use the existing island at other times. Another main
problem is that many matches happen when the line to Moorgate isn't even
open...

As you say, Drayton Park as is couldn't handle the passenger numbers.
One thing I can add is that the (mostly wooden) staircase up from the
platform to the street seems a bit creaky when it's heavily used -
which happens when there are weekday evening matches which is pretty
much the only time the line up from Moorgate can be used to get to the
ground as it's closed all weekends (also when there are weekday
evening matches Drayton Park station closes early at 9:30pm so it
can't be used to get away from the ground).
