Default TfL fares frozen for next year

See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7068282.stm

From January 2008 Oyster PAYG and cash fares will be frozen at this

year's prices.

A report on BBC London (radio) said the official announcement on next
year's fares is due tomorrow (tuesday).

Also, Travelcards are to rise by 3.8%, the rate of inflation.

It'll be interested to see what will happen with regards to Oyster
daily price capping - for the past couple of years, the daily price
cap has been set at 50p less than the 'equivalent' Day Travelcard. Two
possible options:

(1) Will the daily price caps will go up so that this 50p differential
continues - meaning that some journey combinations that currently
qualify for capping won't get capped next year?

(2) Or will the daily price caps also be frozen - in which case the
difference between the daily price caps and the 'equivalent' Day
Travelcard will be more than 50p?

I won't lose any sleep over it (!) as presumably the answer to this
will be revealed tomorrow.
