Default Best tickets for Cambridge-Tolworth via Putney?

When did tube+NR fares get such a hike? It's punitive now for

The current system was introduced in the Jan 2006 fares revision (the
same time as the 'punitive' Tube paper singles). Though AFAIK, prior
to that they were just the price of the separate Tube and NR legs
added together, so still pretty expensive.

They weren't always thus I'm sure. There were through fares to the
Southern, presumably going back to the days when they owned the
District's Wimbledon Line. It is ridiculous to have to go from Putney via
Clapham Junction to avid the rip-off. This will presumably go when proper
zonal fares are finally adopted.

I have in front of me two tickets. Both FCC Only.

1. STD SNR CDR Hassocks-London terminals £9.90
2. SDTD SNR ODTC Hassocks-R1256 £10.55

Extra cost for a Senior Railcard Holder 65p.

That's a CDR Hassocks-Coulsdon South plus a ODTC in effect.

That's a Travelcard, though; what we were talking about applies to
singles and returns. Try comparing with a ticket to U1256 rather than
R1256.
