Richmond upon Thames Council are planning to join forces with Hounslow
Council to promote their alternative proposals to the £10m Crossrail

scheme.

The councils have both stated in their official reports on the project

that
Crossrail should consider allowing some trains to use the Hounslow loop
railway line instead of just serving Richmond via Kew Gardens.

Richmond Council's report concluded that they did not support the scheme
because the benefits to London did not outweigh the impact of losing the
District Line. It also said it would put too much pressure on Richmond
station.
