For some reason Watford North to London is £2532.00 All Zones.
(£3660.00 First). As this ticket journey involves a change at Watford
Junction, using the fast trains would be fine anyway.

Weird. Presumably you were not be able to use this ticket on the slow
train stations outside of Z6. Or maybe you can't use it to enter/exit at
Watford Junction. Don't know what the situation would be now there's
zones 7,8 and 9.

Barry Doe in Rail pointed out some anomalies with Oyster Pay and Go
from Watford Junction.
Oyster charges from the moment you touch in. I can't recall the exact
peak/off peak times so these are examples: if you touch in at 6.55am
(off peak), you'll be charged an off peak fare and travel after 7am,
on the other hand, if you touch in at 6.55PM (peak) and travel after
7.00PM (off peak) you'll be charged the peak fare.

In other words, calculating how much Oyster P&G will be tricky...!

I don't think it's all that tricky. I typically touch in about 06:52 and
catch the 07:01 train. I typically don't catch the 19:04 train because
it's short and crowded, but on the one occasion I did catch this train I
waited outside the barriers until 19:00 (I got there when the clock was
showing 18:58).
