What are the safety implications of bendy buses? I've heard the stories
about cyclists/motorcyclists but how true are these and how much of a
problem is it?

I personally haven't found them to be anything more of a problem than normal buses, though this could be because there are not too many on the streets yet.

IMHO, the biggest dangers/irritants on the roads in Central London are taxis (I speak from the point of view of a car driver, pedestrian and cyclist), who cause far more trouble than *any* other form of vehicle on the road.

You do amaze me.

For many years I worked in the northern home counties, mainly
hertfordshire with some Bedfordshire etc 'out on the road' driving to
several clients a day.

I learned to have a complete contempt and hatred of Taxis there.

When I was moved into working the City and Nxx post codes I came into
London with the hard earned chip on my shoulder, but over the years
have learned that they are perhaps the most professional set of
drivers there.

As I walk about the inner reaches they will normally be the ones to
give way to me, likewise when driving the outer parts.

When short on routing (ie lost!!) a polite request has always got good
directions

My hatred as the least sensable drivers are the twits in the 4x4's who
have never driven up anything more strenuous than Highgate Hill and
the drivers I have been made most fearful of are the young women
driving their Golfs and such like in my rear mirror. I normally make
for the nearest curb since by and large they seem nowadays to see a
man in front of them as some sort of challenge.

Suicidal motorcyclists can be safely ignored as they just scratch the
company's paintwork on their way to Golders Green Crem.
