Default New Northern Line announcements

Is this only at specific locations?

I travelling on that train from Embankment to Morden and all of the
announcements were different. I couldn't work out if it was the same
voice or not. They seemed slightly deeper.

The original messages were amended for certain stations and I notice

that
these have a different volume level. Charing Cross (the Jubilee Line

was
removed) and Clapham North SN are two that spring to mind where changes
were made.

Maybe this is just the one train that has been amended ... I've not
heard the new announcements since I travelled on that one.

The most noticeable difference was during the 'Next station is'
announcements' we are told onto which lines we can change. This is
then repeated when arriving at the station.

Also there appears to be more inflexion on these recordings.

Are they to be rolled out across all the trains on the Northern Line?

I've no idea - I don't know of anything that's going on. I know that they
don't like updating anything unnecessarily because of the cost as all 212
units have to be done, which is a lot of time for any sort of software
etc. update.

I know where they have changed the message at a station (e.g Clapham
North) the message when approaching the station is normally announced even
though the "in service" switch is set to empty. This doesn't happen on the
original messages.
