Just to top-postedly follow myself up on this for future Googlage, I
managed to grab a quick word with one of the NXEA grippers this morning
and asked him if a Z345 period Travelcard on Oyster combined with a
Brimsdown to Hertford East season would be valid to commute from
Tottenham to Ware.

He said he couldn't think of any reason why not and said yes when I
asked if he could be quoted on it :-)

Given that season tickets are valid at intermediate stations along any
permitted route between the two points on the ticket, I can't see a
problem with it - so long as the train stops at the point you change
from one ticket to the other, as the exceptions that allow it not to
don't apply to your case.
