The answer to the question posed by the thread subject is Yes, and you
should take great care not to allow the Oyster anywhere near them if it's
not relevant to your journey. My Oyster is quite well buried (behind the
photocard, I think) and not visible because I never have to remove it from
the wallet. When PAYG becomes valid on the NR routes I use I will probably
move the Oyster to a different wallet because the risk of swiping it instead
of feeding my paper season into NR barriers is far too great - I do this
frequently. I also try to open LU barriers with an NR season.
