We did suggestion no.4 a long time ago (Touch and Pass trial years
ago). One of the testers placed the card in a glove and waved his
hand over the gate and walked through.


I've done the glove idea several times. It's a larf.

Some american tourists
apparently watched this, walked up to the gate, did the same and
then crashed into the gate paddles.


I've seen so many people try this with normal tickets. They see someone
with an oystercard use the reader, then go up to it and touch their
paper ticket to it. This isn't just limited to American tourists
(although one of my girlfriend's American relatives did it while he was
visiting) as I've seen one person doing it with a freedom pass.
