Copyright *might not* be cleared outside the UK, so just in case they ban it all. And of course it's also nothing to do with keeping the bandwidth source/sinks inside the UK. ps there's an earlier video here (mixture of actual film and simulation): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-U_QkZpNKU -- Roland Perry |

Once the maintenance costs start to spiral because its such a niche product it'll soon go the same was as the birmingham maglev. The same service could have been provided by a £25K minibus. B2003 |

I can think of a few in uk.railway that won't be able to cope with the seats not lining up with the windows. Will there be onboard catering at all? Paul S |

Will there be onboard catering at all? Only if BAA allow burger vans in the car parks. Unlikely. :-( |

It is probably just a gimmick that will soon be forgotten. The frightening thing is, BAA intends to use this system to access the central area (T1,2,3) with the bugs whizzing past each other at two levels in the taxi tunnel, which will be converted for the purpose with an intermediate deck! Pie in the sky. |

I can easily see "glitches" coming to late and "safety" issues arising, to say nothing of what is going to happen on the first days of service. I do hope that they can eventually get something going, though I imagine that a wait-and-see approach would be the best thing at this moment. |

There has been a testing programme going on off-site for the last couple of years. But if you were going to apply a virtually untried technology to its first, full scale practical application, I think Heathrow Airport is the last place on earth you should choose, |
