A lot of the delays at Edgware Road seem to be caused by having to
switch trains between the route to hammersmith and the one to high
street kensington, at Praed Street Junction, and crossing tracks for
the platforms at Edgware Road itself.

Is it likely that this stretch will be four tracked in future (after
the end of current development plans for the network in 2025), so that
the two routes don't have to share tracks before Edgware Road?

Above ground, on the northern side, the buildings on this stretch are
tired modern buildings, making a "negative contribution" to the area,
so it could easily be done as part of redeveloping these sites, at
least passively.

On the subject of Edgware Road Station, what are they up to on the
southern part of the site, where they've demolished all the structures
that were there last year?

Speaking as someone who has been there twice daily for the last two
months ....

Are the restricted approach speeds a contributor to the delays?

The approach to Edgware Road is usually (always?) very slow, from
either side. For westbound trains, I can see why - perhaps the
points at the western end of the through route are set the other way,
so the signnalman wants to slow the driver down to reduce the risk of
overrun. But why is the approach also so slow for eastbound
trains? The points at the eastern end will usually be set for
through trains, won't they?
