There was a short item on BBC London news today regarding tube
upgrades, plus a piece on Tom Edwards blog.

In the live on-air piece, they kept going on about 50 year old trains,
without mentioning that their replacements were just around the corner,
and under no threat of cancellation.

Needless to say, Phil Hammond wasn't giving anything away when
interviewed, and claimed to be a Tube user, though he's previously
admitted to using his car most of the time. Of course, who wouldn't, in
warm weather, when a free ministerial Jag is the other option.
