Hospital rail link idea wins prize
CAMBERWELL: An architecture student has designed a prize-winning
scheme for an underground railway linking London hospitals. The plan by Aimee O'Carroll, 24, from Camberwell, would use a Royal Mail track, which carried post from Whitechapel to Paddington until 2003. Medical supplies and blood could be moved quickly between five hospitals. Miss O'Carroll won £1,000 with the Architectural Association's Foster + Partners Prize for Sustainability and Infrastructure. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standa...-wins-prize.do |
