No , its the realisation that your "joke" didn't work passing you by. I never
mentioned killfiling the guy because of what he said so quite how you made

Yes , mea culpa , but these things happen. What shouldn't happen is
an LU employee deliberately try and rip off a customer.

If you're as aggressive in real life as you are here, is it possible
that you don't bring out the very best from those LU employees who have
the pleasure of serving you?

Whilst I accept what you say about the perceived rip off, I am trying
to fathom out just what benefit the ticket office
clerk (starts with a C but so much nicer) could have gained from this
"fraud". It would be next to impossible for him to pocket the cash
without a defecit on his balance. I don't think even you would believe
that there is any instruction issued to staff to deliberately defraud
passengers in this way. If there were, do you think that the staff
would do this without whistleblowing in the current climate ?

Maybe. He did keep me waiting for a long time while he chatted to his colleague
about foorball so perhaps I wasn't as genial as I could have been when he
finally decided to do his job.

I've often typoed "their" for "there" and vice versa; usually
correcting it before hitting "send" or whatever. This is because my
fingers often type a familiar word that is not the one intended, and
nothing to do with my knowledge.

It's not really any different from typing "for" instead of "of", which
I sometimes do.

I think you probably have the answer there. People can make mistakes,
even with things that aren't complicated, and that they know perfectly
well the answer to, just as you did with your typos.

Maybe he was tired or unwell, or had otherwise had a bad day; such
things really affect your concentration and make it much easier to make
silly mistakes.

It's pretty unlikely he did it deliberately, as others have said.

Fair cop. That'll teach me. Isn't it some kind of law that any post
slagging off the grammar or spelling of another person will inevitably
contain at least one of the type of error complained of?
