Northern line to battersea

Does anyone know the likelyhood of this actually being built or is it just
going to be another could-have-been that got approval then was never heard of
again?

The theory is that it'd essentially be financed by the Nine Elms area
developers - so that's where one should look to for any clues. I dunno what
you're referring to when you say it's been "approved" - yes, the Mayor and
TfL are in approval of the notion of a privately financed extension, but
that's kinda as far as it's got (well, there may have been a little
preliminary technical work done at LU, but AFAICS that's about it). As to
whether it'll actually happen, well colour me highly sceptical. (Though if
the yanks were to bankroll it to serve their new embassy, maybe the Mayor
would go easy on them about their continuing congestion charge non-payment!)

Now, who wants to open a franchised McDonald's drive-thru on Nine Elms Lane?

With the new embassy being outside the CC zone, they will be evading
fewer CC payments...

Though any cars registered to the embassy would no longer qualify for the
residents discount, and I imagine there'd be a fair few car trips made from
the new embassy into central London/ the CC zone.

I see from hoardings along Nine Elms Lane that the developer Ballymore is
trying to sell it as the "Embassy Quarter"... hmm!
