Walford - Does anybody leave the square?

Trams? Viaduct? Sure someone has not confused Corrie with "Whatever Happened to
the Likely Lads"? (metro going over Byker, as seen from vicinity of Ship pub?)

Getting back to Walford, I've not been watching East Enders for long, but as
I've yet to see anyone apart from Charlie (who's a tax driver) going to work,
what use have the residents of Albert Square (Walford, not the Stockwell one)
got for public transport? If all of London was like this, there'd be no
transport problems, in fact the services could close up shop.
With an economy apparently dependent on pulling pints and flogging each other
gear, Walford is apparently self-contained, someone must drop them food parcels
by cover of night. Bit like the Prisoner, except nobody tries to escape - well
when they do, their cars hit barriers and burst into flames. Weird! It's
Science Fiction really!

They do actually have Walford East tube station and the number 15 bus, both
of which you see used infrequently. Nevertheless, as you say, it is very
rare that any of them leave the square or its adjacent streets!

They "go up West" and "retire to Leigh on Sea" occasionally.

One lot did escape recently in an old minibus to the wilds of Scotland
and another lot to a romantic hotel again in the Highlands; I believe
the experience taught them never to leave Walford again because one
returned in an urn.....

I've not been to the Stockwell one. Has it got a Queen Vic like the
Walford one and the E15 one have?

More like The Truman Show.

Weird! It's Science Fiction really!

Alistair McGowan explained that one - sometimes they go Up West and
sometimes they go to Manchester, but NOBODY EVER COMES BACK FROM
MANCHESTER!

E15 hasn't ... it closed in 2002

From what I recall, Albert square near Stockwell is quite a quiet, even sedate
looking square, entirely residential and without a boozer.
