Rail replacement bus requirements?

Are there any regulations covering the provision of rail replacement buses
or not? Currently the Shenfield Metro is not running in this part of the
world and no rail replacement buses have been put on with passengers instead
sent off to use the regular 25 and 86 buses - a total nightmare last night
when it meant huge extra demand for the buses.

I am afraid I cannot answer your question. However I would like to
extend the question to ask if any Parliamentary Buses are still
running in London - specifically that one that attracted attention
that ran between I think London Bridge and Wandsworth Road.
I thank you.

AIUI the parly bus is still running, once a week, between Ealing Broadway
and Kensington Olympia. Wandsworth Road to Kensington Olympia has been a
daily parly train for some time. It is several years since the weekly parly
taxi (in the middle of the night) ran from Kensington Olympia to Waterloo
(not London Bridge), as closure procedures took place to withdraw the
passenger service over the Sheepcote Curve between West London Junction and
Latchmere Junctions.

That bus is running as a train again. Won't it cease when the East London
extension to Clapham Junction opens later this year, though?

No, it's supposed to be turned into a service to Ealing Broadway using
a 171 but NR can't give Southern the paths for it to run.

Only partly - it only runs on the WLL, it doesn't reach Ealing Broadway - so
there is still a coach involved.

I don't think so, because the ELL extension does not actually cover the
whole stretch of track - there would still be a short stretch without
passenger services, between Longhedge Jn and Latchmere Jn No 1. The new
service will use an independent pair of tracks west of Longhedge Jn,
unfortunately there are four tracks, and the parly service uses the other
pair...

I'd forgotten that bit so obviously it will have to continue.

Though there will now be a service from Wandsworth Road to Clapham Junction,
hence my thought.

As this thread has gone off on a different path and no-one else has answered
the original question

the answer is no
