in the new trains? Have they used some natural oil in the ventilation fans or something? Its not unpleasent but it got a bit overpowering on saturday. B2003 |

The new air-conditioners are powered by diesel, but recycled vegetable oil also works. When one is in the cab the smell can be pretty bad. The air- conditioning handle-turner man lights the pilot and turns the big wheel - the faster he spins it the colder it gets; simple! It smells overpoweringly of fish and chips and it makes a roaring CHUNGA-CHUNGA-CHUNGA sound. |
