Persons hit by trains - FGW
This morning a person was hit by a train at Cholsey - all four tracks
were closed for some hours in the morning rush-hour to about mid-day. This afternoon a person was hit by a train at Ealing Broadway - again all four tracks were closed. In fact at Paddington - at one time - there were NO services departing or arriving. In fact at one time the departure board was completely black indicating that nothing was running at all. This affected main line and local services to / from Heathrow. As usual BAA failed to arrange alternative transport for HEX / HConn Airport passengers. CJB. |

Obviously the electric HEx trains were screwed, but why couldn't they route at least some diesel trains through Castle Bar Park? |

Unless you're catching a connection at paddington or going somewhere near there the piccadilly line is better full stop since by the time you've got to paddington, shlepped over to the H&C or circle line platforms and waiting 15 mins for a train to crawl into the station then another 30 mins to crawl anywhere useful the picc will already have got you to the west end. Yup, those 'eleventy zillion' stops have the advantage of often being within walking distance of where people actually want to go. Apart from a few hotels, there isn't much useful within walking distance of Paddington. |
