Unfortunately there are no left luggage facilities at Stratford Station or at Stratford International Station. [there are two separate stations at Stratford]. The National Rail website has details if you enter the station name on this page and then click on the "General Services Information" tab when the station details load. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations_destinations/ The nearest railway station with left luggage facilities is London Liverpool Street - about 10 mins away by train from Stratford. Thank you very much. Paolo |

I don't know about Stratford, but this is a link to the company providing left luggage services at several London railway stations: http://www.left-baggage.co.uk/locations.php Please note that it's not lockers but a staffed service with security screening. According to their FAQ no luggage lockers are available in the UK. It's expensive, £8.50 per item. -- jhk |

Tue, 15 Jan 2013, Paul Corfield remarked: places in the Uk where there are unattended luggage lockers. https://help.nationalexpress.com/hel...y/left_luggage Has facilities of some sort at Victoria, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield, but this must be just the ones they manage because there are definitely lockers at the bus/coach station in Nottingham (lockers operated by the City Council). Edinburgh is lockers: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/139...tops_and_shelt ers/533/edinburgh_bus_station/2 And it seems Glasgow and Edinburgh are too. Doing some more random Googling, also at Inverness, Chorley.... The list goes on, but it's that long of a list. -- Roland Perry |

Tue, 15 Jan 2013, Paul Corfield remarked: collect it before the left luggage staff go home. Which is 11pm at most London Termini, and midnight at Victoria. I've used Paddington, Victoria and Kings Cross in the past; all when doing trips where I didn't have a "home base" in the London area. And while the London ones seem expensive, the rucksack-sized ones I've used in Geneva aren't cheap, CHF7-10 which is about £5-7. -- Roland Perry |

It's a shame but there you go. Years back you couldn't (really) do an Interrail in Europe without recourse to station luggage lockers to dump your rucksack. Nowadays I assume you lug it round or fork out a load of money and need to collect it before the left luggage staff go home. A fair number of tourist attractions on the Continent offer lockers for visitors, or will let you dump a bag somewhere. These days hostels also seem happier than in the past about storing their guests' bags for the day before/after their stay. -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |

Roland said otherwise. At that stage I was thinking of London, but will give you half a point. Meanwhile, how secure are "Cycle lockers" - I now note some stations (not necessarily London Termini, I haven't looked) have pay-per-use Cycle Lockers, and I suppose you could stick baggage in them instead? Or would that trigger a security alert. -- Roland Perry |
