Oyster card condundrum

I've got a registered Oyster card with an online account. I've got
another one that's not been used for a while but has been registered -
but although i thought I had the login it doesn't work. Requesting
username and password just gives me details for my main card as all it
asks for is email and postcode or username and postcode. There seems to
be no way of getting details for the other Oyster card as the number is
not used to retrieve details - is that correct?

All I want to do is top it up and give it to my son.

I suspect it will be necessary to speak to the Oyster Help Desk to see
what they can find based on your personal details which are presumably
held against each card. I've only ever had to deal with the help desk
once but they were fine.

Yes, will do - I just wanted to confirm that there isn't a way of
marrying the number with lost details.

They may be able to move the "errant" card under your main account - I
think you can have more than one card held on one account. Having
logged on to Oyster online I see you can add another card to an
account by entering the extra card's number and completing the
security question details from when it was first registered. This all
rather assumes you can remember what it was!

I tried that and of course it says the card is already registered to
another account.

it also occurs to me that as the card has not been used for about two
years I should check it works before bunging money on it - and of
course I've no idea how much is on there already.

It's also possible to get the password reset by going along to a Ticket
Office and asking them to change it, though you may need to complete a
registration form to do so. Not sure how long that takes to filter
through to the online system however.
