Executives ordering technical people to go on fact-finding missions is a
good idea... executives authorising their own beano, not so good.

So there's nothing to learn from others about how to manage the
project - not to mention managing the "technical people" when eg one lot
insist that only a gold plated thingummy will do while t'others that it
must be a depleted uranium wotsit?

Sorry

If your (relevant) management skills are so lacking that you have to travel

That may be the most devoid-of-content reply I've seen in years. It
would work as a text comment, but as a usenet reply it just looks laughable.

:-)

It's best not to make jokes in uk.politics.misc and uk.transport.london
which can only be understood by people who have just been reading
uk.politics.electoral ;-P
