No chance -- it's much too close to Green Park and Hyde Park Corner. |

No chance -- it's much too close to Green Park and Hyde Park Corner. Got it. Which of the shuttered stations is the most likely candidate for reactivation, York Road? With the Granary Square developments, that would be a more useful one to reopen, but it would have to be refurbished to current standards, not reopened as it was when it closed in 1932 (which was in original 1906 style). There have been campaigns to reopen it, but the cost would be in the tens of millions (probably well over £25m), so I don't see much chance of it any time soon. Adding an extra stop would also add unwelcome delays to Piccadilly line trains. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York_Road_tube_station http://www.camdennewjournal.com/news...will-stay-shut |
