What basic two platform station has the most frequent service?

If busy NR platforms rarely have much over 12tph, it's a reminder of how
lightly used they are. I doubt that there's a single LU central area
station that has as few as 20tph in the peaks. The busiest dozens have
30tph or more. And none of these hundreds of trains has fewer than six
carriages, all of which are packed in the six or so peak hours.

My local Underground station is Leyton which is extremely busy. Even
off-peak passengers stream down the steps onto the west-bound platform
at a rate of about ten people per minute. Running at three minute intervals,
each train picks up around thirty passengers.

One Saturday afternoon two years ago I was at Eltham station. Trains were
running at either 20 or 30 minutes intervals: I can't remember now. When my
train arrived, there were about fifteen passengers waiting. I couldn't
believe it!

This point is often over-looked by South Londoners who complain that
London Underground operates mainly north of the river.

That's not exactly a basic two-platform station, is it, though? I don't
think you can include junctions like that -- the through Met platforms will
also have a lower frequency, as both sets together feed the route towards
Kings Cross.

You could alternatively consider it as the Baker Street to Edgware
Road route. If you want to include the "country" platforms then
someone else might argue you also have to include the Jubilee line
from Finchley Road.

I don't

Kings Cross.

Street to Aldgate part seems to have had an increase in through Met
trains with a consequential slight decrease of HandC/Circle trains.

I think that's getting too complicated. To return to the original question,
just consider the tph at, say, Great Portland Street.

Yes, fewer Met services terminate at Baker St these days.
