Picture 30 shows a steam train in Baker Street Circle platforms. Why was
it there? Since the former vents in the station have long been blocked
up, what was the consequence of this outing? Did the station have to be
closed to allow this to happen?

Read the caption. I assume this was a rehearsal for the public event
because there were no people there, there were later. And it's all
steam, not smoke!
