top up wrong Oyster (almost)
Popped over to my "local" machine to add a top-up to the O. Touched
the reader gizmo, pressed the button to show balance & journeys. It had me using Clapham North and a lot of bus 174, which did puzzle me since I'm on t' other side of the river. Anyway, didn't have time there and then to sort this out, it could wait. I wanted to bung on a fiver so pressed TopUp and 5, insert CC, "touch card again" asked the machine. "NO!", it screamed, "TOUCH THE SAME CARD". Cancel op, redo from start. Obviously it had misread my card on the initial touch and took me for some saaf Laandaner (shudder). Previous user had paid for a paper ticket so it wasn't a case of me jumping in on someone else's use of the machine. But it does make me wonder if some people are travelling occasionally on other users' credit (e.g buses) if this sort of thing can happen so easily? (Aside: retouching to load credit is a good design.) Headers spam-proofed. Use cmylod at bigfoot . com |
