Dose anyone know anything about the work (possibly refurbishment) going on
at the old Aldwych LUL station ?

It is not refurbishment in the same sense as a normal "working" LU
station. AIUI a range of work is being done to improve site conditions
when it is hired out for commercial use e.g. film and video shoots.
