Nearer in distance, or in time? And how did you want to travel. Where
are you going once you have met the tube?

Gatwick by rail: the first tube you directly encounter is London Bridge
or Victoria - about 30 miles, but only 30 minutes.

Stansted to Epping by taxi is 18 miles and an estimated 31 minutes.

Gatwick is more convenient, most of the time.

Stansted by rail: Tube is Tottenham Hale (30 mins) or Liverpool St
(45).

To get to Gatwick requires a change at the Victoria Tube station to the
~30-minute Gatwick Express train (or perhaps a slower, cheaper option) and
vice versa. I haven't flown to Stansted yet.

Yes, no or maybe depending on where you want to go and how you want to get
there.

If we are talking about travelling by train to central London you can go
from Stansted to London Liverpool Street in about 45 minutes (Stansted
Express) though there are also slower trains. However the trains also call
at Tottenham Hale on the Victoria Line which is about 30 minutes from
Stansted and that line can take you into the heart of London too.

Likewise you can go from Gatwick to London Victoria in about 30 minutes
(Gatwick Express) but there are also slower and cheaper trains and also you
can go to London Bridge or King's Cross using the Thameslink trains in a
slightly longer time.

In terms of travelling time and cost the differences between Gatwick and
Stansted are likely to be pretty insignificant compared to the flight and
airport waiting times and flight costs if you are talking about central
London. One or other may give an easier journey from the airport to your
destination but it really does depend on exactly where you are going and
there probably isn't a huge amount in it in many cases.

If your destination is outside of the central London area it might be that
one or other airport will start to suggest itself more.

Thanks to everybody !!!
I was looking for the cheaper solution, becouse I think the rail tiket is so
expensive !!!
You have to think that the rail tiket is more expensive than the airplane
ticket to Italy.
I was searching a low cost company that fly to Heathrow, but there are no
one, so I'm looking for the cheapest between Gatwich and Stansted !!!

It would have helped if you'd said that in your question.

Try http://www.gobycoach.co.uk and see what the bus fare is from
Gatwick or Stansted to London. I think they will be very similar.

Failing that, you have a 20 mile walk for either of them to the nearest
tube station!

In the last few months National Express have started up a cheap coach
service from Stratford to Stansted:

http://www.nationalexpress.com/nxair...ast_london.cfm

£6 one-way, journey time is timetabled for about an hour, although any
serious problems on the M11 will obviously affect that. Stratford's
possibly a bit of a trek for those over in west London but for a lot of
people (like me) this is far more convenient and quicker than travelling
all the way over to Victoria.

You could also try: www.terravision.it
They are running a dedicated Stanstead-London(Victoria) coach service for
£8.50 single.
Have used it only once and found it to be just tickety-boo !
