Can any one help with this query...

TFL don't seem to give me a straight answer.

I buy an annual season ticket this year (before the price hike).
If I wanted to surrender my pass sometime next year, what would I be entitled to ?

How much is the admin fee ?

The ammount you paid pro-rata minus any applicable admin fee. E.G. You pay
£1200 for year pass, and surrender after 2 months you get about £1000 back.

back.

It is not done pro-rata. If you got a refund after two months you would get
£1200 minus the cost of two monthly tickets which would work out to less
than £1000 as monthlies are more than 1/12 the price of an annual ticket.

than request a refund, then buy a new season, you can do an exchange,
whereby they'll work out the difference between what you paid for and
what you now need to pay (or get refunded) for the alternative ticket,

What do they do about the charter refund? WAGN told me the only way you are
entitled to the charter discount is if the ticket is identical. I was
thinking of cutting back R3456 as I don't ever use the travelcard in these
zones as I work in Z2. It's about £370 a year for no good reason (or £170 if
I don't get the discount).

own
money back.

An administration fee is hardly cheeky. It could be argued that they are
being generous in giving any refund at all. If I take a half-eaten sandwich
I no longer want back to M&S I don't get a partial refund.

The changeover ticket would be issued undiscounted, and the discounted
rate for the original ticket would be taken into account when working
out the difference. Upon renewal, of course, normal charter discount
rules apply.

Thanks for straightening this out, shame it's not to my advantage!

I don't really understand why a ticket for the same TOC where the zonal
(other TOC/TFL) validity changes doesn't attract the discount, especially
since it's supposedly compensating me for poor service that I've already had
to put up with (uncompensated at the time). I have no other way of claiming,
and if my circumstances change I won't get any compensation :(

The discount on WAGN was 14% last year and 7% this year, it's more than
generous that it is also off the zonal part of the ticket, but if I do as
planned and drop zones 3-6 off the ticket and don't get the discount, it'll
cost me £200.

Indeed, you can't take petrol back to the garage after you put it in your
tank can you?
