Lineside structures

There are structures beside the South Western main line over sidings
(on the Necropolis viaduct and on the SC/TL side of the alignment North
of Wimbledon) which look like supports for tramway electrification.
There seem to be some sort of light fittings attached to them. What are
these objects?

James.

Sounds as simple as lights for the sidings, to make it easier for staff
to wander around performing their duties.
Any other ideas?
