Lancaster Gate used to be closed on Sundays IIRC. Indeed there were. Looking at a 1972 map it gives Covent Garden, Ravenscourt Park and Shadwell as closed on Sundays and Barbican, Fairlop, Mornington Crescent, Roding Valley and West Brompton as closed on Saturdays and Sundays. West Brompton reopened at weekends with the opening of the West London Line platforms, I believe. This is correct. With the shift to seven-day opening, I wonder if the three remaining six-day stations will open on Sundays any time in the near future... |
