Heard a report on LBC last night that Clapham Junction got closed due to a
lighting failure on the platforms - then nothing more.

Was it just a brief incident not worthy of anything else, or did they just
get it wrong?

When I was there (around 7pm) the lights were on but the information
displays were down "due to power supply problems which are being worked
on by engineers". I am told that earlier on in the evening trains were
non-stopping on (at least) the SWT Wimbledon lines due to no lighting
on platforms, but I don't know how much of the station was affected by
that.

My husband said that it was total chaos yesterday morning - it took him
a long time to get to work, and a lot of trains ran through empty, were
delayed, or just vanished into thin air. There was power (and
announcements) up to about platform 11, but certainly none on platform
13 onwards. He was relieved that neither his homeward journey last
night, nor his journey to work this morning needed to involve Clapham
Junction!

Went through there about 5:15 last night. My train should have stopped there
but we were told (after leaving Waterloo) that the station was closed due to
a power failure. As we went through it was completely deserted apart from
one person taking photographs of the trains at the London end of one of the
platforms!

That would fit in with what LBC said about 6:00.
It just seemed strange that I heard nothing more from them about it.

Closed around 4 and was rumoured to stay closed all evening but first train
was 1806 London Waterloo to London Waterloo calling there. It was closed on
the grounds of health and safety. Was not helped that evening with a 450
failing outside CJ.

At Olympia about 16.10 it was announced that CJ was closed by a power
failure and there would be no further trains thereto. As a result a
crowd crosses the bridge and waits for the Underground. Train heading
towards CJ then arrives and seems to be continuing, resulting in a
stampede back across the bridge! Those of us heading northwards (and
I suspect the station staff) were surprised when the Watford and
Willesden trains arrived on time.

Only when I heard the local radio news did it become clear that it was
the lights and not the traction power that had failed, and that the
presumed train to CJ would have just reversed at West Brompton!

Another case of inadequate information for passengers. I will not
attempt to point the finger.
