I think I have worked out that I could use bus route 187 to go from near
Finchley Road station to near Queens Park station.

The tfl website is showing the quickest transfer is Metropolitan Line to
Baker Street, then back up with the Bakerloo.

LOL. Personally I would either ride the North London Line from Finchley Road
& Frognal to Brondesbury Park and walk to Queens Park, or walk down to South
Hampstead station and the ride the other Silverlink line to Queens Park.
Depending on the location of the hills, it might be best to go one way and
come back the other. Going via Baker Street is slow and expensive.

A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood.
That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

More expensive maybe, as it includes Zone 1, but not necessarily slow if you
allow for the 15-20 minute frequencies on the Silverlink services. It
depends whether you can schedule your journey to fit the timetable or want
the quickest route irrespective of starting time.
