York Way open again

I'm surprised it's not been mentioned on UK.T.L yet but the new rebuilt
York Way has opened. I came through on the bike yesterday and also
this morning. They have certainly made a fantastic job of it and when
you consider just how much work they had to do (demolish the old road,
build the new road and put in bridges for 5 or 6 new railway lines)
it's amazing that they got it done so quickly.

I haven't had a chance to stop there yet (being on my way to work) but
it looks like you should get some good views across the whole
development.

Thanks. Do you know if Pancras Road is open?

That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

I think Pancras Road is still closed.

Thanks for the info. Last time we came that way we tried to avoid it
and got a bit lost, and ended up on it south of the closure, which was
not what we'd meant to do - but we got some terrific views of the works
going on at St Pancras, it was well worth having mistaken our route!
I'm glad it will be open when we need to go that way again next week.

Hasn't it been open for a while? Or do you mean properly open, as opposed
to having great plastic blocks down half of it? Or is there some bit
that's closed that i don't use? I use the bit from Goods Way to Euston
Road on a bike; there are probably subtleties of its openness i've missed.

Last time I visited it, even taxis weren't allowed to use the Euston Road
end.... maybe cycles could, though.

That bit is open to buses, taxis and bikes only, and one-way too.

Pancras Road is (temporarily at least) one way south for buses and taxis
only.

OK by me as I drive a taxi :-)

and construction traffic for access to the CTRL and LUL worksites, with
either a delivery note or a site pass (like I have in my pocket).

The CTRL permanent plan is for Pancras Road to be one-way northbound (except
for traffic exiting Kings Cross). However, TfL/Camden have other ideas
linked to the KX lands redevelopment.

York Way open again

Talking of York Way, we drove down it the other night, this group having
helpfully alerted us to the fact that it was now possible to do so!
Anyway, we drove under the new railway bridge, and were astonished to
see a freight train passing over our heads.

My husband wondered whether they'd diverted an existing route on to the
new bridge, but then we thought it more probable that it was a spoil
train, taking rubbish away from the new St Pancras.

Anybody know?
